As a 3D artist my world often collides with Visual Effects and other 3D artist techniques. I saw new trends developing in the field using procedurally generated visuals more widely. These non-medical visuals brought up similar questions to the ones I had been considering in my own field of Biocommunications regarding authority, data sets and visualizing unpredictability.

My practice-based work has begun to explore these 3D generative art techniques and modify them for use in a Biocommunications workflow. I intend to explore through the creation of 3 case studies how 3D generative techniques can aid in visualizing Illogical unpredictable expressive elements of cellular and molecular phenomena. I will be using a combination of 3D software like Cinema 4D and Houdini along with plugin X-particles. Using these tools I will work through other philosophical questions surrounding artist as conductor relationships and questions of  authorship and authority.
